Love Your Bodd

New Episodes every other Thursday! Love Your Bodd, hosted by Heather Boddy, is a podcast focused on creating a dialogue around body image. The podcast was on hiatus from mid 2019 - mid 2022. Heather's philosophies and priorities shifted while doing Love Your Bodd so if you're new here, please start with the 2022 "Start Here" Episode! We all have insecurities. You are not alone in your struggles. In Love Your Bodd, Heather Boddy sits down with artists, activists, health & fitness professionals and more, to discuss body image and how our insecurities make us who we are. The lack of representation in the arts and media is overwhelming. It's time to hold up a mirror to society and talk about how it can affect us. It's also time to hold a mirror up to ourselves and truly love that person we see staring back at us. Do you love your bodd?

Rise Up In Love Part IV

Wow. Collaborating with Rise Up In Love has been a true honor. This is a partnership that I'm sure will continue as both projects keep growing. Keep on the lookout for special events and follow Rise Up In Love on Facebook for updates.

This episode is clips from interviews both Ebony and Heather had with participants about relationships (with themselves, with their art, with their bodies, with their partners, etc) and what intrigued them to participate in Rise Up In Love to begin with.

It's not easy being this vulnerable. The participants share so much:

First, you hear from Dnez about his experiences being racially profiled and how he celebrates it with Love.

Then you hear from Marla and Julie about how they've recently come together after knowing each other for YEARS and how important this project is to them based in this political climate.

Next you hear from Martha and her baby girl about why they jumped in at Times Square and represented their family's love! Which has a wonderful story behind it!

Lastly, you hear from Brett and Micheal. Micheal is from the Rise Up In Love II episode. In this interview we bring his fiancé Brett into the mix and they talk about why they cancelled their wedding and all the pressures that come along with pleasing people when you're an entertainer.

It's a beautiful celebration of love!

Rise Up In Love Part III

Heather starts off this episode with a tangent about the scale. THROW IT AWAY! She then butchers this beautiful JK Rowling Quote:

"I mean, is ‘fat’ really the worst thing a human being can be? Is ‘fat’ worse than ‘vindictive’, ‘jealous’, ‘shallow’, ‘vain’, ‘boring’ or ‘cruel’? Not to me; but then, you might retort, what do I know about the pressure to be skinny? I’m not in the business of being judged on my looks

This episode is in collaboration with the Rise Up In Love project! Heather finally had the chance to sit down with creator, Crystal Rose, to talk about her inspiration and the mission of Rise Up In Love. They talk about how it's always possible to imagine something and watch your dreams come true. They talk about being little chubby dancers and Crystal brings something to light about Heather's childhood that BLOWS HER MIND. The overall theme of the episode is to celebrate love and celebrate who you are because we are all kind of a big deal and we all deserve to be celebrated.

In her scale tangent, Heather starts with this Instagram post from Pink

This month, Love Your Bodd is partnering with Rise Up in Love NYC showcasing the beautiful couples of the Rise Up in Love Project.

In this episode, guest host Ebony Short (from the "You Can't Please Everyone" and Gal Gang episodes) interviews Michael - a gay man who is exploring his feminine energy, overcoming his dark place, and who simply wants to celebrate life. The two get pretty deep with talk about overcoming self-hatred to love the dark parts of yourself because that truly makes you who you are.

Micheal has a blue energy that he celebrates and showcases every day. Listen to hear the origin story behind blue and why it means so much to him. This episode is a raw exploration into humanity thanks to Michael's willingness to be so open and vulnerable. Listen with an open mind and an open heart!

This month, Love Your Bodd is dedicating it's episodes to the beautiful couples from the project Rise Up in Love NYC. There is just so much content and so much to celebrate that host Heather could not pack it into one episode.

Speaking of hosts, we have a guest host for this episode! Rise Up in Love Part I is hosted by Ebony Short (from the "You Can't Please Everyone" and Gal Gang episodes) and she does a fantastic job carrying out the Love Your Bodd mission. She is great at digging deeper as well as celebrating and soaking in all the information these beautiful people have to offer. Plus, it's fun to mix things up!

In this episode you'll hear about why these couples were so interested in participating in the project. Our featured interview is with the very lovely and eloquent man who talks about loving and taking care of himself so that he can be on this planet and love his partner a little longer. He also talks to us about relationships both with food AND with humans. There are many analogies that are exchanged based on food and people. For example, listen to hear how he treats new relationships the same way he treats a giant bar of chocolate! The episode is delicious with insight.
